Praise The Lord All You People Of Hope
Today’s Word: Hold On To Your Hope (Part 1)
This week I want to encourage and establish some things in your life that would move you in a positive direction and make a huge difference in the way you see life’s challenges and situations as you hold onto your hope.
Children of God If you’ve been feeling a little hopeless and you know you’ve been looking only at the natural circumstances and negative things in your life, its’ time to switch your focus today and hold on to your hope.
Hebrews 11:1 (NKJV) Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.
The Writer of Hebrews tells us that, faith is “the assurance of things hoped for” and Hope, therefore, is the object upon which we direct our focus and energies.
Def. of Hope: to trust in, wait for, look for, or desire something or someone; or to expect something beneficial in the future.
Def. of Hold: to remain attached, faithful, or steadfast: to hold to one’s purpose
Example: Like a sailor, He has hope in the “anchor” for his boat to hold it in place. We have of anchor for our lives that can helps us stand fast through the storms of life. It’s called Hope.
Def. of Anchor a person or thing that provides strength and support
Hebrews 6:19 (NKJV) This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast,
This verse is telling us An anchor keeps you from drifting. Hope can keep our soul – which is made up of our mind, will, emotions, and thinking faculties’ .When the waves are crashing against your ship, and you’re in the middle of the storm, the anchor of hope serves its purpose by keeping you at rest. That hope keeps you from drifting off into troubled waters. The greatest battle is in your mind.
Example: When you have prayed and believed God for certain things, and your head starts telling you there’s no way this is going to happen, hope is the expectation that will anchor your soul and straighten up your thinking. Hope will keep you at rest, firm and steady, when your mind is being bombarded by thoughts of giving up.
